The Health Journal Wins 12 Virginia Press Association Awards

The staff at The Health Journal won a collective 12 Virginia Press Association awards. All entrants in the 2014 VPA contest were judged by the Georgia Press Association. Here is a complete list of the staff’s awards:

Judge’s Comments: Truly outstanding work. With the feel of a major network production, Naomi’s story put a beautiful face on the larger issue of helping children overcome whatever obstacles may be placed in front of them. The storytelling is magnificent and the production values are tremendous. Easily the top two entrants in the category.

Judge’s Comments: Outstanding production values along with great storytelling. The top two in the category clearly stood above the rest. The vistas created by the camera and merging of Augie’s own words to tell the story were extremely well done.
