Grilled Romaine Hearts with Balsamic Reduction and Blue Cheese

Have you ever tried grilled romaine hearts? They're delicious with a drizzle of balsamic reduction and sprinkled with blue cheese.

Ingredients
  1. 2 whole romaine hearts
  2. 2 cups balsamic vinegar
  3. 2 teaspoons white sugar
  4. olive oil (for brushing)
  5. crumbled blue cheese (for garnish)
Instructions
  1. • Gently wash and pat dry romaine hearts, removing any wilted outer leaves.
  2. • Balsamic Reduction: Combine 2 C balsamic vinegar and 2 t sugar in a small sauce pot over high heat. Whisk constantly until balsamic vinegar is reduced by half.
  3. • Brush olive oil over the entire romaine heart and place on the grill grates over medium heat. Turning periodically.
  4. • Once the romaine hearts begin to wilt and are warm, remove from the grill, place on a large plate, drizzle with balsamic reduction and garnish with blue cheese.
  5. • Cut in half or thirds and serve.
