Bon Secours Opens FastCare, a Convenience Care Clinic

Bon Secours Virginia Medical Group has opened its first Bon Secours FastCare location in the Farm Fresh at 701 Battlefield Boulevard in Chesapeake. Bon Secours FastCare provides convenient, affordable patient care for those in need of non-emergency medical services including vaccinations, screenings and minor illness visits on a walk-in basis.

The Bon Secours FastCare offers convenient hours, Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 8:30 pm, Saturday from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm and Sunday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. On holidays, the clinic is open from 10 am to 2 pm, though it is closed on Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

“We are dedicated to providing high quality, compassionate care where our community needs it,” says Herbert Cummings, Chief Operating Officer for Bon Secours Virginia Medical Group. “Our FastCare location is designed to provide convenient, accessible and affordable care from the Bon Secours providers you know and trust.”

The clinic accepts all major insurance plans including Medicaid and Medicare. For insured patients, their primary care office visit copay applies. An office visit is just $40 for individuals without insurance. Bon Secours patients will benefit from the use of electronic medical records (EMRs) that can be safely shared with their Bon Secours physicians, while new patients may benefit from physician referrals. As the first health system in the area to enter the convenient care industry, Bon Secours offers a smooth and easy transition for its patients and those who may benefit from establishing a relationship with a local primary care physician.

“Bon Secours FastCare’s low out-of-pocket costs with the familiarity of a local health system,” says Cummings. “Having a convenient care center in a grocery store, allows us to help people receive quick care for illnesses or can catch up on physicals or vaccines without taking much time out of their busy schedules.”

FastCare accepts walk-in patients only, but waits are expected to be non-existent or minimal. Should there be a wait, silent pagers are available for use in the store that will alert you when the provider is ready.

In addition, faster pharmacy service will be provided based on immediate transmittal of prescriptions to the Farm Fresh pharmacy or the pharmacy of the patient’s choice.
